Our van is equipped with a 48" ramp, and you will find the interior of the van to be roomy and comfortable. There is a max of 800 lb. (client + wheelchair combined), and a max wheelchair width of 37".

About Jen
I have been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) since 2006. I pride myself with providing compassionate and comprehensive therapy. Safety, mobility, wheelchair management, and body mechanics are the core of my day to day functions.
Through my work in skilled nursing, I began to see a void in the community that needed filled: reliable transportation to medical appointments. Understanding that it is critical to get a client to their medical destination is just the beginning of my story. I soon began to realize that the real void was bariatric transportation. I found the available options for the bariatric community to be lacking in dignity, choice, and autonomy.
On November 2, 2022, I took a huge leap of faith and formed Empowered Transit LLC. My goal is to provide timely, comfortable, and affordable non emergent medical transportation--regardless of my client's size. It will be an honor to serve you or your loved one.
